Leaked Court Documents Mean Sad News For Al Sharpton

Seventeen years ago, Reverend Al Sharpton separated from his wife, Kathy Jordan.

Although his love life has not been lacking during the intervening years, he did not find that love from his wife.

Now, leaked court documents indicate that Sharpton has finally made the decision to file divorce papers and officially end the couple’s lengthy relationship, which began after the pair met in the 1970s.

Now, rumors are flying that Sharpton may be prepared to marry his much-younger girlfriend, Aisha McShaw, 42, whom he began dating in 2013.

Sharpton and Jordan first met back in the 1970s. At the time, Jordan was working as a background singer for the legendary performer James Brown. For a few years, Sharpton and Jordan dated before they tied the knot in 1980.

They had two daughters together and remained united until their separation in 2004.

Since they were separated, Sharpton, the founder of The National Action Network, began dating McShaw, who is twenty-three years younger than him. Their first public appearance was at the New York County Democratic Committee Award Ceremony in 2013, and McShaw told those at the event that she was Sharpton’s “girlfriend.”

At the time, the media slammed Sharpton for being in a relationship despite still being married to Jordan. Although he had been separated from his wife for nine years at that point, he did not want his love life to interfere with his public image.

At the time, it was reported that he told his aide Rachel Noerdlinger: “Rachel, I’m not announcing an engagement or a marriage. Don’t I have a right to date when my marriage has been over for a decade?”

When McShaw first started dating Sharpton, she listed her career as a “stylist.” Her website details her passion for fashion and claims that she “began her fashion journey as a stylist, styling housewives, corporate women, celebrities, and attending numerous red carpet events herself.”

Her website also reported: “Aisha McShaw is a luxury womenswear made-to-order brand designed by Aisha McShaw. Aisha’s mission as the CEO of her namesake brand is to empower women. With over ten years in the banking industry, she diverged into the world of fashion to follow her passion.

She began her fashion journey as a stylist, styling housewives, corporate women, celebrities, and attending numerous red carpet events herself. Influenced by old Hollywood glamour, she wanted to create timeless pieces for herself that she did not see on the market.”

After coming forward as Sharpton’s girlfriend, McShaw enjoyed many of the benefits of Sharpton’s attention. She attended events at the White House in 2014, where she enjoyed dinner with the Obamas when they hosted French President Francois Hollande. She was also a guest at the popular White House Correspondents dinner in 2014, 2015, and 2016.

Now that Sharpton has officially filed for divorce, rumors are flying regarding his love life with McShaw. Is Sharpton finally ready to move on from Jordan and tie the knot with his young girlfriend? Or is he filing for divorce now for other reasons?
