Seafood Lasagna Recipe: A Creamy, Restaurant-Style Dish You Can Make at Home

If you love lasagna but want something a little different from the traditional beef version, seafood lasagna is the perfect choice. Made with tender shrimp, creamy white sauce, melted cheese, and layers of pasta, this comforting dish feels elegant enough for a special dinner while still being easy enough to prepare at home.

The combination of seafood and creamy sauce creates a rich, satisfying flavor without relying on tomato sauce. It is especially delicious when served hot, straight from the oven, with a simple green salad or crusty bread on the side.

🦐 Ingredients
For the seafood filling:
400 g shrimp, peeled and deveined
250 g cooked crab meat or chopped white fish
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon butter
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
For the creamy sauce:
4 tablespoons butter
4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
700 ml milk
150 ml heavy cream
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
¼ teaspoon garlic powder
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
For the lasagna:
9–12 lasagna sheets
300 g shredded mozzarella
100 g grated Parmesan
Fresh parsley for garnish
👩‍🍳 Instructions
1. Prepare the seafood

Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds.

Add the shrimp and cook for approximately 2–3 minutes per side, until they are opaque and cooked through. Add the crab meat or white fish, season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning, and cook for another 1–2 minutes.

Remove from the heat and stir in the fresh parsley.

2. Make the creamy sauce

Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in the flour and cook for about 1 minute.

Gradually add the milk while whisking continuously to prevent lumps. Add the heavy cream, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.

Continue cooking for 4–6 minutes, stirring frequently, until the sauce thickens.

Remove from the heat and stir in the Parmesan cheese.

3. Assemble the lasagna

Preheat your oven to 180°C.

Spread a thin layer of creamy sauce across the bottom of a baking dish.

Add a layer of lasagna sheets, followed by some seafood mixture, creamy sauce, and mozzarella.

Repeat the layers until all the ingredients are used.

Finish with a generous layer of creamy sauce, mozzarella, and Parmesan on top.

4. Bake

Cover the dish loosely with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.

Remove the foil and bake for another 10–15 minutes, until the cheese is golden and bubbling.

Let the lasagna rest for approximately 10–15 minutes before slicing.

Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.

🍽️ Serving Tip

For the best result, serve this seafood lasagna with a fresh green salad, garlic bread, or roasted vegetables. A squeeze of fresh lemon over the seafood just before serving can also brighten the flavors.
