Mom Who Gave Birth In The Back Of A Taxi Is Shocked When They Sent Her A Cleaning Bill

A young mother named Farah Cacanindin, 26, gave birth in the back of a taxi while trying to get to the hospital. She suddenly went into labor while in the back of the taxi and managed to deliver her baby herself while the car was speeding along at forty miles per hour. Now, Farah is coming forward to share her shock at having received a cleaning bill from the taxi car company invoicing her for a total of more than $80 for having given birth in the back of the taxicab.

Farah has gotten into the taxi after leaving the hospital for a routine check on her pregnancy. She suddenly went into labor while in the back of the taxicab and had to give birth while journeying back home to her property in Buckinghamshire, United Kingdom. She gave birth to her baby girl Naia while in the back of the cab and everything went rather smoothly despite the mess that was made due to the birthing process.

Although the baby was born in the back of the cab, the driver took Farah to the Stoke Mandeville Hospital for her to receive treatment from medical professionals. The taxi driver called the hospital ahead of their arrival to alert them to the fact that the new mother would be arriving in short order.

Farah wrapped her newborn baby girl, Naia, in her jacket after she was born in the back of the taxi. The baby was totally healthy despite the shocking circumstances of her birth. Because the mother and her newborn baby were both doing well upon arrival at the hospital, they were allowed to return home to their place in Buckinghamshire.

That’s when Farah was shocked at receiving a bill from the Arrow Taxis company. She was charged thirty pounds for the drive to the hospital as well as sixty pounds for the cleaning fee due to the fact that she gave birth in the back of the cab.

Although the new mom knew that she made a mess in the back of the taxicab, she felt that it was unreasonable for her to have to pay for the cleaning fee since it was a totally unexpected situation that she was not able to control.

Farah said, “I understand that I did make a mess but it’s a bit cheeky to have charged me. It was the quickest labor ever. My waters broke five minutes into the journey. The driver asked if I wanted him to pull over but I said to keep going as I believed I would make it before she was born.”

To add insult to injury, Farah can still see the cab in which she gave birth to Naia a few blocks down the road from her house. The car seems to be doing just fine after it was cleaned professionally following the birth that occurred in the backseat.

Daily Mail contacted Arrow Taxis for comment but has not yet received a response to their inquiry.
