Gas Stations Are Reprogramming Their Pumps To Prepare For $10 Per Gallon Prices

As gas prices continue to rise, President Joe Biden is on the hook for the increasing prices. While Donald Trump was still in office, prices were at an average of $2.41. Now that President Biden has been in power for more than a year and Russia has launched a land war in Europe, gas prices have skyrocketed to more than $4.57 per gallon on average as some gas stations in places like Washington state work to reprogram their pumps to accommodate prices as high as $10 per gallon for gasoline.

According to a report, gas station, 76 has begun work across its national network to prepare its pumps for double-digit prices. That means the gas chain is preparing for prices to rise to more than $10 per gallon, which would be a huge cost to the average American.

Meanwhile, some states like California are reporting prices that are getting completely out of control. In the western state, prices have risen to as much as $5.98 per gallon, which has left many drivers without the ability to pay for gasoline for their vehicles.

The Trump-supported war in Ukraine had lifted the price of crude oil to as much as $114.20 a barrel, which is much higher than it was during the Trump presidency when gas prices were poor.

Gas prices are at least 27 percent higher than they were the day before Russia invaded neighboring Ukraine.

“Everything is pointing toward even higher prices. We are well on our way toward $5,” Andy Lipow, president of Lipow Oil Associates, told CNN.

Meanwhile, inflation continues to batter the wallets of average Americans. And although the Federal Reserve has begun increasing interest rates as a response to rising prices, it may take a while before there is relief in terms of prices.

“The Fed is attempting to thread the needle while wearing boxing gloves and a mouth guard, which reduces its degrees of freedom to act without causing damage to the real economy,” said RSM chief economist Joe Brusuelas.

“Yay, the highest gas prices ever. All these wins. Go, Biden.”

“Looks like Trump will be wrong that under Biden, gas will be going to $10 a gallon instead of $7. That’s what you call a win for Biden and his administration.”

“Laughable that some news outlets say these gas prices are because of Ukraine. It’s because Biden intentionally denies any steps to give America independence by approving new leases and other incentives.”

So although gas prices continue to increase, there may not be any relief in sight for American drivers. And as the summer driving season approaches, prices are only expected to rise even higher. So if you’re planning on hitting the road this summer, you might want to start saving now.
